Not to knock the discussion about the Linden Lab Community Partnership off the top spot (your feedback is important – please post a comment!) but this video with Howard Rheingold discussing virtual communities I think speaks to some of what Chilbo aspires to be for its members. What do you think?

Very interresting perspective ranging back to the old 300 baud dial up bulletin board days.. A phone call is communication in a virtual world. Witness the dreamy distant look in the eyes of a driver using a cell phone. Consider that driving while phoning, or, gasp, texting causes accidents. The drivers aren’t in their cars, from their perspective..
The communities are real, the communication is real.. The depth and quality of the communication affects the growth of the community. So be real, folks.. communicate well… Be nice.
