The Plopp Flop

Fleep on Oct 4th 2007

Thanks to @Satchmo from Twitter, I checked out this program called Plopp, which is supposed to allow you to easily create sculpties for Second Life and the texture wrapping all in one fell swoop. I didn’t read the directions, so user error is likely to blame, but I thought I’d share the results of my first failure.

Trying to draw with Plopp feels much like MS Paint. The tools aren’t labeled with text either, so you have to guess what each icon means. After futzing with the letters for a while, I had my first attempt.

Chilbo in Plopp

I decided to leave off the dot on the i since I wasn’t sure how that would work on a sculptie. I uploaded the two textures, applied them in the object and texture tabs of my new prim, and voila.

What happened to my plopp?

Hmmmmm. That doesn’t look quite right. Plopp Flop #1.

It might help if I read the directions.

For a limited time only, you can see Plopp Flop #1 in-world at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Chilbo/114/216/120
